Tomato

This is a personal work I did just to stay creative and keep learning new techniques. It was originally inspired by an artist I saw at Baltimore Artscape, who had a whole booth full of beautiful, vibrant acrylic paintings of fruits and vegetables.

Here are the original understudy sketches, where I worked out the flow of the subject before bringing into Photoshop to refine, color, and texturize.

Baltimore Fashion Week

This summer I (as an employee of Integrated Designs) had the opportunity to create some transit advertisements for MTA and Baltimore Fashion Week. We did metro interior squares, bus kings and bus tails. These were done in Adobe Photoshop, using client-provided photography.

B. Morr Website Redesign

This is a website I did for B. Morr, a Christian hip-hop artist in the Baltimore area. Working with Brandon was a great experience from start to finish, and I'm really happy with how the site turned out. This project was created in Photoshop and Dreamweaver, and coded in HTML5 and CSS3. Special thanks to jcochran photography (jcochranphotography.com) for taking just the images I was looking for.

MARC Halethorpe Grand Opening!

For the past year I have been working as a graphic designer at Integrated Designs, a small design firm outside Baltimore, MD. I just got the approval to post some of what I've been working on online! I have so much more I would like to share that I can't, but at least I can give a peek of what I've been up to.

This past August, the Maryland Transit Administration (mta.maryland.gov) opened a new MARC train station in Halethorpe, Maryland. As their contracted design and marketing company, we did all of the design work for their grand opening event. I did the majority of the design work, using client-provided photography. The event materials included a postcard, banner, display boards, and dedication plaque.

Posters

When I worked as a student designer for the Student Activities Council at Indiana Wesleyan University I created many posters advertising various campus events. Below are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Howdy!

This quick little sketch was inspired by the Illustration Friday topic "mustache." It was done in Photoshop, and gave me a chance to play around with some new watercolor brushes I've been wanting to try out. I love how the color "bleeds" into other colors, especially in the dark red-orange areas. I'm starting to learn how to use the mixer brush, and how to make custom brushes so I can get just the look I want.

Snow

Burr! It's getting cold outside! This little sketch was inspired by the changing seasons, and by the work of Kelly Canby (kellycanby.com). I am a huge fan of her work, and read her blog almost daily! I love her expressive line and understated textures.
